Event Medical and Safety (EMS)
Welcome to Event Medical and Safety, where we provide top-quality set/event medics and COVID compliance officers to clients. Our services are available primarily in Southern California but can be provided nationwide, no matter where your event takes place.
Our team of EMTs, Paramedics, and RNs are led by a Medical Director and are committed to providing quality and professional on-site treatment for your production or event. We offer first aid and basic life support services to anyone who is injured, and we will contact local emergency medical services if a higher level of care is required. Depending on the type of injury or situation, we may also refer individuals to a local urgent care.
Founded in 2020 in response to the COVID pandemic, Event Medical and Safety was created by EMT Ryan Albaugh, who has made it his life's mission to give back to the community in any way possible. He hopes that by offering workplace health and safety services, he can contribute to this larger goal and ensure that everyone can receive quality and professional medical care.
In addition to founding Event Medical and Safety, Ryan has been involved in opening two free public COVID testing locations in Southern California and providing emergency medical care for major events such as the Spartan Race and Bonnaroo. He has also served as the Medical Supervisor, Set Medic, Health & Safety Supervisor, and COVID Compliance Officer on numerous big-name TV, film, commercial, and photography productions. Ryan is a disabled US Marine Corps veteran, former chief of police and firefighter, and has served two tours in Afghanistan as a bomb dog handler with the Department of Defense and Department of State. He has also worked as a private security behavior detection officer for a high-profile building in downtown Minneapolis and provided security as a bomb dog handler for celebrities at major premieres on Hollywood Blvd.

Are you a skilled emergency medical provider with experience responding to 911 calls?
If so, we invite you to join our on-call team and become a per diem Event Medic for events and productions in California.
As an Event Medic, you will provide medical care and attention at public gatherings, concerts, film sets, and other events where medical assistance may be required. This flexible opportunity allows you to choose which events or productions to work on based on your availability, and is a great way to gain valuable experience in the field, network with industry professionals, and earn additional income. Responsibilities include providing medical care and attention to individuals in emergency situations, maintaining accurate patient care reports, assessing and stabilizing patients, administering medications and treatment as needed, and communicating effectively with patients, medical professionals, and event staff. You will also be responsible for maintaining all necessary medical equipment and supplies.
Qualified candidates must possess a valid California EMT, Paramedic, or RN certification/license, a minimum of 2 years of emergency experience, strong communication and problem-solving skills, the ability to think quickly and work effectively in high-pressure situations, and good physical fitness to be able to lift and transport patients.
